“Dances from a ColorfulWorld”
On Sunday August 23, 2009 Mosaïque Language & Cultural Arts presented its
premiere Dance Showcase, featuring Middle Eastern Dance performances by students,
instructors and guest artists. The family oriented program featured Oriental and
Folkloric belly dance styles from Egypt and Lebanon, along with several styles of
Persian dance.
The show included performances by students, instructors and Troupe Eshveh,
Northern Virginia’s only folkloric belly dance ensemble, along with Katayoun,
Mosaïque’s founder and chief instructor, choreographer and professional dancer. The
show was infused with educational elements, authentic costuming and exciting music
and choreography!
